National House Care, Inc. participates in Georgia Tech study on aging-in-place.
Atlanta, GA – November 30, 2006 – National House Care, Inc., the leader in Atlanta’s aging-in-place services, actively participated in a research study undertaken by Georgia Tech’s Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA).
Under a grant program, CATEA is conducting a study to help develop a web based system to enable the building and remodeling industries to more effectively construct, remodel and modify homes to better meet the needs of our growing senior population. The study will help service providers across the nation share design solutions, locate products, track clients, build case evaluations and provide aging-in-place solutions through keyword, manufacturer and product searches.
Aging-in-place is: remaining in one’s home safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age, income or ability level. It means the pleasure of living in a familiar environment throughout one’s maturing years, and the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special events that enrich all our lives. It means the reassurance of being able to call a house a “home” for a lifetime.
Enabling our senior population to age-in-place will significantly reduce the strain on our nation’s long term care infrastructure as well as providing a significant cost savings for seniors and their families vs. the cost of extended care facilities.
National House Care offers a wide variety of services from basic handyman service to complete home maintenance. Unique in the Atlanta home repair market, National House Care specializes in helping Atlanta seniors maintain and repair their homes.
